Every group, if it’s around long enough, goes through growth spurts and changes. Our group has certainly done that over its years of existence. We began in 2015 as the Sisters of Suspense. (Can’t believe it was that long ago!) Life changes caused some authors to leave, and others joined us, and we became Sisterhood of Suspense. And then in 2020 we organized again when we realized that only a couple of us still wrote suspense, and gosh wasn’t our world in a mess with the Covid Pandemic!
So we again morphed this time taking a different bent and focusing on posts that folks would find encouraging, up-lifting, and positive. That’s when we became Word By Word. “We are women in writing sharing encouragement one word at a time. Join us…”
As time went on with Covid and all the changes it brought to everything we thought we knew, some of our members found they weren’t able to be active participants in WBW anymore. We’ve lost some beloved members, who you may or may not see drop by from time to time, but they are no longer official members of WBW. However, they are always welcome.
As one door closes, another one opens. We are thrilled to announce our newest members. In alphabetical order, we welcome: Reggi Allder, Beverly Bateman, Darlene DeLuca, and Peggy McKenzie. They are joining our remaining members who you know: Pat Amsden, Vicki Batman, Stephanie Thomas Taylor, and me, Marsha R. West.
Check out the About the Authors section on our web site to learn more about our newest members and what they write. We hope you will continue to follow our blog posts, our Sunday Lines, and our Weekly Questions. And follow each author if you haven’t already. We are authors, so we will continue to share info about our books and author events, but as we started last year, we will try to share lines and posts that you will find to be encouraging and uplifting. Good times are coming as many of us have gotten that second Pfizer or Maderno shot, but it will still be a while before we are back to going and doing the way we did before. Hopefully, we’ve learned a few things along this journey.
Are you in groups that have changed recently because of the Virus? Are you good with change or like me, one who struggle with it? What are some positive things you see that might have come out of our shared experiences with Covid? Love to hear from you.
