In Love

Once Handsome lost his Blackberry, and since he could not live without it, he bought another. I did find the lost one next to a black seat runner in my Jeep. Black and black blend together. LOL. The old one became mine, and I fell in love.

The ability of the Blackberry to be utilized with a portable keyboard for taking notes was a godsend. I typed away, set the Blackberry in its cradle, and synced with my computer. Definitely easier than writing tons of notes. And I type faster than write.
Out of Love
As Blackberry fell out of favor, I had to buy an iPhone. I went with a small version because it fit into a handbag easier. I lamented the demise of the notetaking ability I had with the Blackberry. I tried using an iPad but wasn’t in love. I tried my computer but wasn’t in love. Just too darn heavy to carry at a convention, too. I wanted a set-up like my Blackberry.
One day, I perused the web and found Bluetooth keyboards for an iPhone. I ordered two. I never did get the folded one to work. The other worked perfectlly. I carried my phone and keyboard to meetings and typed away in the Notes feature. Forwarded the class notes to my computer. Beautiful.
And then, the beloved Bluetooth keyboard stopped working. New batteries? Did not help. Gosh, darn. Now what?

In Love
Back to the web, where I found a keyboard that plugs into the iPhone. No more messing with the batteries. I’ve been testing this configuration all week, and it works great. I’m pretty sure I’m in love again.
Have you ever used a tool that is near irreplaceable?

Excerpt:
“Jonson doesn’t comprehend the concept. Not with a small part”—with a mischievous grin, I crooked my little finger—“like his.”
Behind her hand, Tracey snickered for a moment, then grew somber. “And how would you know his man part size, sister dear?”
“Why, sister dear, you told me.”
“So I did.”
Review:
-I laughed. I wondered. Then I laughed some more. Every page of Temporarily Out of Luck delivers a satisfying story and heartfelt humor. Don’t miss this great read!
-I loved it! It was a very entertaining and a fast read that kept me engaged throughout. The pacing was perfect. My only complaint is now I’m craving M&Ms and enchiladas. And donuts. And wedding cake.

Hey, Vicki. Well, this was fascinating. Is the screen you use just the one on your iPhone? That doesn’t seem loud enough to me. I’m spoiled by my large Dell Screen and my ergonomic keyboard. The Surface Pro works pretty well, but still the keyboard is small. Didn’t I say I was spoiled? LOL Good post. I’ve shared. 🙂

My screen is the one on the iphone–so, small, but for notetaking? Is perfect. I do add that i’m not too concerned with perfect notes. That can be fixed later. And turning iphone to landscape side is good for notetaking, too.

Hi Vicki, I enjoyed your journey with the Blackberry and Iphone. I have always used an Android. Still, I’m finally going to buy a new phone as my old phone no longer supports the newer apps. Sad because it works fine, but I guess time marches on. At this point, I’m deciding whether to buy and Android or an Apple.

Hi, Reggi! I really loved the Blackberry and in a flash, the iphone took over. At Bouchercon, I saw a woman using a Blackberry and she said she had both kinds of phones, but loved Blackberry for email.

I have to admit I’ve never been a blackberry fan. But iPad? Definitely addicted. I used to have a case that also acted as a stand for easy typing.

Wow, didn’t know they made those keyboards for I-phone. Might have to check into that.
Good luck and God’s blessings with your new book

I didn’t either, Pam, until I went hunging. A very nice surprise and like I have said, turned my phone into an ipad–sorta. LOL
