As the world opens up, with many of us vaccinated, many of us are considering travel at some point, and events. There may be a wedding in the family, or of friends. These are all wonderful things. Just for a moment though, I ask you to celebrate the small things.
Ice Cream on a summer night.
A walk with a friend
Swimming in cold clear water.
Watching the sunset or sunrise.
A first cup of coffee.
A new book by your favourite author with a glass of wine and a chocolate while you read.
The smell of fresh cut grass.

Puppies – of any kind. And puppy dog kisses.
Lying on the ground and watching the stars. Can you spot the Big Dipper?
Flowers from your garden, delivered by a special someone.

Turning the music up full blast and dancing to it.
Walking on the beach and watching the waves come in.
Kisses.
Stretching.
Laughing
Walking on cool and shady forest paths.
Watching dogs play in the dog park.
In the end, these are not the small things at all. They are the moments of joy and happiness that bind us all together. They cost nothing or very little. And while your small things list may be different than mine, chances are there will be overlap. In the end we are more alike than not.
What small things do you celebrate?
Hi, Pat! Your words made me crave to be at home and indulging in these small things. Soon!

Hopefully you and Handsome will be back soon enjoying little things. In the meantime just remembering can provide a mental break❤️❤️

Hey, Pat. Late getting here since I’m on vacation and not too much online. So glad I saw this post. It’s really a great reminder of all the things for which we can be grateful. Thanks so much. I shared on FB, but not Twitter. Having some issues with Twitter here. 🙂

Hi Pat, what a wonderful post! As someone once said, the small things in life often become big events when remembered later in life. 🙂

Thanks Reggi
It’s so true! Milestones are great but when you can close your eyes and almost feel yourself jumping into that swimming hole you swam in growing up or feel yourself in a cool forest it’s magical.

Great post, Pat. There are lots of small things that give big rewards. I have two grandsons who love to run down the hill and knock o the patio door with those little knuckles. They don’t knock loud, but when I hear them I go to open the door and their faces shine. So beautiful.

I’m pretty sure I met one te other day and yes, those are truly special memories you’re making together. I can remember being with my grandma and making necklaces with pop it beads. I’m pretty sure she never wore them out of her house but the Joy was in the making.
Thanks for stopping by.

My cats. My collection of miniature vases. A meal out with friends – at last! Going for a walk and knowing my body is still strong and healthy enough to enjoy it. The cucumbers on the vine out in the garden. So, so many things. Thanks, Pat.

Those are all things which make you happy. So small and yet not. I love having Fluffy around though and my mouth is watering. I’ll go get a cucumber tonight or tomorrow.

A warm breeze cooling me down, my cat curled up in the shade fast asleep, the hummingbird who likes to hover in front of me chattering about his day, the vegetable garden growing inches each time I look.
Opening my eyes each morning and knowing I’m right where I want to be.
Love this, Pat ❤

I loved this! ❤ So encouraging, so uplifting. I'll enjoy the tomatoes from our garden when they become ripe. I'll enjoy going to the cabin we rent each September that we didn't go to last year.

Mmmm. Fresh out of the garden. My mouth waters at the thought! And a week at your cabin sounds pretty wonderful.
