We got back late on October 11 from a 7 day trip to Maine followed by 3 days in New Hampshire. Our last trip was in 2018. We’ve been fortunate to make almost twenty trips to New England starting with my first year as an elementary school principal. I lived in Massachusetts when I was in 6th grade, and the place just got into my blood. The history, the seasons, especially fall. (I’d moved from El Paso, Texas, so that made the year in New England more memorable for me. So entirely different.)

But I have a ton of pics. So here are some mostly different ones.
The first pic above is from Mount Battie looking down on Camden Harbor. 2 is the menu from the pizza place with the BEST pizza I’ve eaten in forever. (One of my goals on this trip was to eat pizza, lobster roll, and ice cream. I got to do all three.) 🙂 Pic 3 is of living room of our rental. We were able to walk everywhere. Perfection. We bought a couple of meals there and a couple of bottles of wine. All yummy.
After the week in Camden we drove to Jackson, New Hampshire to stay at the Christmas Farm Inn and Spa. A great place. Here’s the link. https://christmasfarminn.com/ The first pic is of the pizza and salad we ate the first night in front of our fireplace in our two room suite. All on one floor and no stairs to get in. Very important. This lovely place is on a hill and some of the accommodations included stairs. Pic 2: The town of Jackson does a special deal during the fall, The Pumpkin People. Everyone decorates their front lawns or porches with characters made using pumpkins. The Snoopy above has a perfectly shaped gord for his head. It was all very clever. Pic 3: A river ran through the town with stones and babbly water and of course colorful trees. Just gorgeous. Pic 4 A deli in town I stumbled over when I went out to get my steps. It was darling. I enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate and a piece of cranberry nut loaf. I was in heaven. Pic 5. Also on my walk, I passed this perfect Christmas tree just growing along the side of the road. It’s so perfect, it almost looks fake.
We feel very blessed to have taken this wonderful vacation and grateful to visit with friends along the way. Don’t know when we’ll return. We really missed Charley.

What a beautiful setting! My daughter went to school in central New York, so we’ve been up in the fall to see the magnificent colors. Have been to Maine, but not in the fall. Sounds like a must-do road trip! And what a great setting for your new book!

Wonderful pictures, Marsha! I haven’t been to New England–well, in forever. Usually, because of Handsome’s business, we went to New York City. Fall is such a special time. Glad you had so much fun.
