Are you celebrating this holiday this weekend? I know our Canadian friends celebrated last month. If you’re traveling, I hope you don’t have too many delays or dangerous roads to slow down your celebration. I hope you’re with family and/or friends.
My family comes to our house for the day. From our first married Thanksgiving, others have traveled to us. There have only been a couple of times we didn’t celebrate the day in our home with family and friends gathered around.
My husband bakes a moist, yummy turkey. Our daughters swear it’s the best in the world. 😊 I make the dressing, cranberries, and cole slaw. Our daughters bring the rest of the goodies: Green bean casserole, corn casserole, sweet potato casserole, Christmas munch, and sausage balls. All of these items were at one time made by family members who are no longer with us. That makes it all the more special.
I’ve described this meal in COMPROMISE which was released last November. This book is on a Black Friday 99 Cent sale from Friday through Monday. It’s a Hallmarkish Christmas type book. Except for the murder on page two. LOL The H & H are in their 50s.

We are blessed in so many ways: our kids and grands live within 15 minutes of us, and they like us. 😊 We live on a beautiful lake and get to see sweet, brown-eyed deer, amazing mallards, coots, herons, egrets, and in late December the pelicans will arrive. They are such a blessing.

Made a quick visit to see my parents. No kids with us this year. Having a late dinner with my son tomorrow night. Will see them both for Christmas. So that’s the really fun thing I’m looking forward to. No shopping today! Finished reading Compromise and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Hey, Darlene. Glad you got to see your folks. We only had one year where both kids were elsewhere, several with one or the other gone. Glad you’ll all be together for Christmas. We didn’t go to the mall, but made a couple of stops. Will focus on Christmas when we get to December. I like to drag out Thanksgiving as long as possible.
